Mansfield Village Mushroom Festival & Car Show
April 26-27, 2008
Thousands of Village guests meet in Mansfield each year on the last full weekend of April to kick off another official hunting season for the elusive morel. This is the featured item and the valuable delicacy to buy, sell or trade during the annual Mansfield Village Mushroom Festival.
The Saturday and Sunday mushroom hunt gives visitors the opportunity to tromp the woods in search of morels. Be sure to register at Fox’s Overlook for the Mushroom Hunt. Prizes are awarded for the largest and the most mushrooms found, and everyone wins the prize of spending time in some of Indiana’s most scenic hardwood forests.
A Sunday tradition at the Mushroom Festival is the Mushroom Festival Car Show held at Mansfield Parke. A live awards ceremony is held Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. No festival is complete without a delicious variety of food available.
Fine crafts and other items can be found at vendor booths throughout town.
Mansfield Village is a spring treat the last full weekend of April.
Mansfield is located in Parke County, Indiana, 6 miles south of US 36, just off the east side of SR 59 or 10 miles north of US 40. For more information about the Festival, call 765-653-4026. For Car Show information, call 765-344-1889.
